Broodmares
Tonto Bars Etta, or Fancy as we call her, is a ranch-raised mare. She works cattle like
a dream and when the cows start bawling her ears prick in their direction and she's ready.
She's awesome with cows and has shown superior cow sense. She has been roped off of,
been in the Team Penning arena and cuts like a pro. Once she latches onto a cow, look out!
She has a willing, gentle disposition and anybody can ride her. Visitors at the ranch
always choose Fancy as their riding mount as they know she will take care of them. She's
careful with green riders and just takes care of you if you are on her back. She passes
this wonderful dispostion along with her superior cow saavy and speed. She does a beautiful
appendix cross ready for the sport arena, racing, or all around AQHA Championship events.
Fancy's foals are usually spoken for before they hit the ground. Her 2004 breeding will be
back to Diamond Bill from Oakwood Farm.
We are expecting another spectacular foal from this breeding in the spring of 2005.
Whoops! Fancy twined on us in '99. Named Dancer (colt) and Prancer (filly).
We bottled raised Prancer as Fancy said one was enough! With the help of our dog Rockie,
we bundled her up and took her home.

Prancer, shown above in the twin photos is the little doll of the ranch. She is also
registered in the American Quarter Pony Association, # P-4808. She loves to go for trailer
rides and hit the mountain trails. If the trailer leaves without her, she chases it down
the fence. She was easy to train and is a gentle riding horse, perfect for the youngsters.
She possesses her Dam's great cow mind, and she is quick and fast. She use to chase the car
down our 1/2 mile drive if the car left without her! I use to bundle her up, put her on
the back seat, and drop her off at the sitters while I finished a summer class. She was
known around town as the horse that rode in the car! She is still a clown and knows human
ways but has accepted her role as a horse. Prancer's sire is
Luckys Gold Bar, whose sire is
Sho Bar Bob.
Prancer is expecting her first foal in May 04. She was bred to a Paint stallion
Legend of Playboy from Oakwood Farm.
We are all anxious to see her first offspring and expect a full size horse from this breeding.
After all, even tho she is small because she was a twin, she does carry regular horse genes.
